Shannon Fricke Linen; setting up the new range

I mentioned to you the other week my excitement about the new Shannon Fricke bedlinen range and so I thought I’d follow up with the set up of the bedding display.  I was very excited to find it had arrived so soon when I got to work this week.  Its this time of year when we start to see new stock arrive and we can begin to implement the seasonal changeover that I always find renewed passion for work.  It becomes fun again with lots of new ‘toys’ to play with and be inspired by..and so it was when I began to work with the new range.

Firstly I must say that the simple packaging is divine..gorgeous fabric packs made in the same fabric as the quilts.  And the quality of the fabrics is gorgeous and soft to touch.  I have already ordered the aqua velvet euros..so soft and being in that amazing favourite hue of mine how could I not have it?  And that chunky silver knit throw is so beautiful everyone loved it.

There are a lot of beds that the linen would work with but in retail sometimes you have to work around what is there and what the managers want so I worked it into our feature spot with some contemporary style timber beds. I thought we could work with a mix of modern, rustic and mixed in some industrial display pieces.  You can also see that I’ve created a different look for each bed..one more soft and loaded up like you could just climb into it and the other in a more minimal streamlined look to cater to a different customer and to compliment the bed.  In fact the mix and match options of the linen was endless and I found it hard to decide what to put where.  But in retail..unlike a magazine shoot this will change weekly as stock is sold and we move things around to keep it all looking fresh..so i can try some new combos next week.

I tried to use a mix of decorator products mixed in with industrial and worn features pieces and even the two glam chandeliers worked well to create a relaxed and flea market kind of feel to get across the relaxed notion of the mixing and matching.  So all in all I was happy with the result, impressed with the product and found myself in my element ..these are the days when I love my job.
