I am so excited to introduce you all to our second Alphabet Monkey nursery feature.
Todays mum is Andrea Starling and the woodland nursery she has created for her first baby who is due any time now.
Andrea has answered a few questions for us.
Where do you live
Albion Park NSW Australia
Baby’s name and sex..
This is our first baby, we are both really excited and are looking forward to meeting him or her. We resisted the temptation to find out the sex, this really will be the best Christmas present ever!
Tell us about your inspiration for your nursery…
The nursery colour scheme was actually built around your Alphabet Monkey quilt which I came across while browsing Etsy. I really wanted a home made quilt, my Nan was a very good quilter – sadly I did not inherit any of her skills! I was also pleased to discover that you were local, I live at Albion Park Rail.
The tree mural was also purchased on Etsy from SimpleShapes, hubby did a wonderful job putting it up – the instructions and application were quite straight forward.
As you can see the nursery is lovely and fresh with a neutral base of white and a latte shade on the wall . It features of course the limited edition Happy Woodlands Quilt as pictured below. I dont have any more of them but I may have a tiny bit of fabric left if you email me.
What scares you about motherhood?
There are lots of things that scare me about motherhood – will my baby be healthy and happy? Will I be a good Mum? Will my baby make good friends and lead a fulfilling life? Will I have a great relationship with my baby like I do with my own Mum?
What do you look forward to about motherhood?
I’m really looking forward to being a mum and experiencing all the challenges and rewards that I have heard so much about from other mums.
Even after reading all the books and going to prenatal classes, we have absolutely no idea what we are in for – but I think that adds to the excitement.
I’ve spent a long time in the corporate world focusing on my career – but I know there is more to life! I have made the big decision to take 12 months off work, my priorities have shifted – and I am sure life as I know it will never be the same again!
Thanks so much for Andrea for sharing her nursery and her thoughts..I’m sure we can all relate in some way to her concerns.
The Baby Starling nursery can also be found on my Alphabet Monkey nursery Pinterest board.
