So what did you get up to for Australia Day?
Here is a little photo snapshot of mine.
Friday was the most gorgeous morning and we were down at the harbour early and set up for some swimming. It is ideal for little kids down there because it is protected by the breakwater so it is mostly calm waters. Lucky we went then cause the weather is turning with the cyclone weather up north and its meant to rain all week.
We went that afternoon to pick up my lovely friend Miss A from her long journey down on the train. It was so great to see her..and don’t you just love that friend even more when they bring along a bottle of Moet?
We managed some girl time that night down in the village for some thai and drinks and then yesterday on Australia Day we went down to Green Poppy cafe (my favourite) and then just relaxed outside on the day bed. We had the obligatory lamb on the bbq , and my new mega easy specialty..mini pavs and of course we savoured the Moet and the good company. In a repeat of New Years we were able to have a front row seat from our deck to view some nearby fireworks, which of course Cam loved.
When Miss A was heading off today I was so glad to hear she felt like she had really relaxed and like she had been on a mini holiday..although I don’t know many upmarket resorts where you run around toilet training a dog and a toddler at the same time..I won’t go into details there..lol
Life is a lot more lay back around here and thats just the way I like it.
Though I do love to pop up to visit the bustle of the city too and remember old times, its just that full time its just not for me.
How about you..are you a city or country type??
