In the Media.. Down Under Quilt Mag

Hello and happy weekend,

What do you have planned?

Today is very rainy which is a bit of a change as it has been such lovely summery weather since I returned from holidays.  I am off to sydney for a close friends 40th tonight so I am looking forward to seeing everyone and dressing up for a party.

I also have some interesting news that Alphabet Monkey was included in a story about selling online in the latest edition of Down Under Quilts magazine.  I have had a great experience selling online so I was happy to be included when the editor approached me.

The story features a collection of people selling quilts online and shares their advice and tips in selling their wares on etsy and made it.

In my opinion there are so many opportunities for everyone with all this online selling. and it is especially great for mums, whether they create a business that suits their lifestyle or whether they use it because it saves them valuable time and avoid dragging kids to the shops.  I know for one that I always avoided taking Campbell to the shops if I could..just for my own sanity..

I have had creative business’ in the past and I wonder how different things could have been if everyone was using the internet to shop as much back then. No more needs for traipsing across the countryside attending different markets trying to get exposure. The world is your potential customer now.

Of course, it isn’t for everyone. Many new mums have a burst of creativity and long to create something where they can stay home with bub and still earn some money. Some work out and some don’t. Sometimes we just need a creative outlet..it doesn’t necessarily have to make us money or become a business. I think we all benefit from doing something creative in our life..it could be painting, decorating, gardening, cooking or making creative lunches for the kids.
