So Emerald was named the Pantone colour of the 2013 … so we’ve had all year to get used to it so how do you feel about it?
I feel like I haven’t seen as much of it as I hoped to.
Most of us feel quite safe decorating with greens like pistachio and olive. But this shade is a little different..more intense. Is it too bold for you to work into your home? Your wardrobe? A little dash will do the trick.
I own a few pieces of clothing in this colour and love it. I have been on the lookout for the colour to trickle through from fashion into interiors and although I’ve seen some great uses I haven’t seen it used much in kids rooms or nurseries…yet.
I came across this fantastic scandi style boys room on pinterest and was mesmerised by it. I just love that brilliant green wardrobe and it’s contrast to the stark white and black.
The raw timber brings some rustic warmth to the room.. I love how they have dipped the feet of the stool in white..blending it into the floor.
And of course the vintage elements like that amazing trunk on castors just makes it. I love the mix of the room but I wonder if it’s just the green that I’m drawn to. Just because it’s something bold and different. Just look at the interesting ways they have incorporated it in, including that half wall.
I will be on the lookout for more green and encourage you to consider it for your boys room, or even for a gender neutral nursery. Rainbow brights that are also fashionable at the moment will fit right in too.
I will be embracing this colour in some of my upcoming ranges so you can be sure to be able to find something for a cool , modern nursery.
