So with the arrival of the latest incarnation of our Moby Whale Nautical range I started thinking about how I would put it together.
Nautical vibes just never seem to go out of style for boys especially. Originally I tended to avoid these more classic themes as I felt that they were well covered by the main stream. However over the years I have learnt that I have to not only look at what is trending in both kids and adult interiors, combine it with what inspires me but also listen to what my customer (you ) is asking for. And see if I can work it all together.
So with that in mind I have created our last range by taking on board your love of all things whale inspired and added a contemporary twist ..coastal style meets geometric cool.
Nautical style lends itself to so many different interpretations ..classic timber cots, coastal lime washed cots, simple white or grey is always a winner. So whatever way you work it you can’t really go wrong. With my design board I’ve gone for the Incy Interiors Harry Cot because I just love that look of silver. In fact I am a huge fan of mixing up textures and styles. So I’ve mixed the casual coastal feel of the rattan chair from Family Love Tree and the jute rug from Freedom ..love the navy trim around it.
You could also mix in a rattan light shade and rustic storage or make the look more modern with a metallic geometric light shade. Ladedah is where you can find the crochet mobile as well as some other whale toys. And of course the geometric cushion and quilt is ours..you can see the range here.
I’ve also set up a pinterest board called Whale of a Time where you can find other whale inspired items to help you create your nursery..just remember not to have whale motifs on everything or it can get a bit much. Choose just a couple to pop around the room for a more understated space.
Its up to you.. this is a starting point for inspiration.
