Chloe Fleury Animal Heads

The trend to use animal heads in the nursery has been around for a while but is still as popular as ever.  I wanted to introduce you to another style of animal heads created by clever French Illustrator and prop stylist Chloe Fleury.

Chloe currently lives in San Francisco USA with her husband, two daughters Lula and Anouk and their cat Maggie.

Her paper creations are usually adapted into stop motion animation and have been used by some of the worlds biggest companies for window displays or advertising purposes.  When I checked out her site I was surprised to see that I was familiar with many of her campaigns however I have mostly admired the clever origami like paper animal heads that are often pictured in the most stylish and quirky nurseries.

Her colourful aesthetic is contagious and I just love the way she mixes it all together to create fun  looks in her spaces. Above and below you can see the flamingo head which I have in my own daughters room.  The swan design above is gorgeous and sure to be a winner as the trend for swans in girls rooms explodes.

I also purchased an elephant head to use in some of our photography and thought it looks quite good in a minimalist setting too.  The heads all come flat packed with pre marked lines to fold along and double sided sticky patches to secure.  We found them quite simple to put together.

The bunnies are super cute.. in black and white above or in the springtime colours below.  One great thing about them is that they are so lightweight and easy to stick to the wall. This is great for us as we are currently renting.

And this cute little lion head is one of Chloes’ latest designs which was also part of an advertising campaign.

I highly recommend you check out Chloes’ website as she is one clever girl.  I initially followed her on Instagram as I loved her designs but also her travel adventures. You can see the love of colour and design from far flung destinations not only in her home but also her work.

Her work is quite sought after so sometimes you may have to wait for a restock to get a sold out design..but its worth it.

I hope you’ve loved her work as much as I do and consider it when looking for something different to add to your nursery wall.

Trend Watch.. Mounted Animal Heads

paper mache animal heads

What do you think about faux animal heads in the nursery??

This trends for faux taxidermy has been in fashion for a few years in the interiors world that I’m surprised it is still going strong.

And it’s adaption into children’s and nursery design has been growing.  I searched for mounted animal heads while doing this design board last year and struggled to find many.  Now you can do a search on google or etsy and there is no shortage of different animals and styles to be found.

deer heads in the nursery

This understated nursery incorporates the deer heads into the design in an unassuming way. It incorporates the trend without making it the feature.

These cute guys below are a quirky way to bring the style into kids spaces but make more of a statement.

felt animal heads for children's rooms

I suppose the most child friendly looking ones are these felt style heads.  I guess they just have a more child like feel to them which would appeal to a lot of mums to be.

I think they are quite cute but i think my personal faces are the paper macho style..I think I’d even like some in my office/studio.

But when I asked my four year old what he thought..he wasn’t a fan.  Scary was his verdict.  But he also doesn’t like his black chevron curtains because he thinks they look like scary teeth :0

So maybe its all fine while they are tiny babies but be warned you may need to remove later if your little one doesn’t like eyes watching him while he sleeps.

Got to love their imagination!!

You can find all these photos and their sources as well as lots more on my Animal Heads pinterest board.
