Little Indian Nursery…

Little Indian nursery by alphabet monkey.com.au. Cool bedding for little boys.

Hello again,

Today I have put together a little nursery collage cause I haven’t done one in ages. I’ve mixed up the Ashkii range with some great other nursery products to create the Little Indian Nursery.

You may notice that gorgeous emerald green metal cot  by Incy Interiors featuring front and centre.  It’s the latest colour in their metal range arriving in September.  This only confirms to be that we are definitely yet to see more of this vibrant shade in kids interiors yet.  Emerald was the Pantone colour of the year in 2013 and I was actually surprised that I didn’t see all that much of it around.  Especially in interiors .  But as I predicted it is creeping in more and more this year in both fashion and interiors and I think that as mums tire of black, white and yellow ..they will move onto this fresh colour.

You will find our Ashkii linen available in our online store here.  The good news is that it may be here as early as next week.. a bit earlier than anticipated. We have already had such an overwhelming response to preorders from those of you who don’t want to miss out and we will have them posted off to you as soon as they arrive.

The super cool ‘Wild and Free ‘ print is from our friends at  May and Belle  , I have it in yellow but I’ll have to get the green now.

That gorgeous hand made timber feather mobile is from Etsy at The Red Bird shop

And the super cute paper cutout Teepee wall art is from Piccolo Studio

Geometric Range 2013

This week I have spent some time trying to rephotograph some of my quilts so I can present a cohesive range.  I often sell matching pieces before I get a chance to photograph them so I’m trying to do things a bit differently this year.  It’s all about being organised..well that’s the theory anyway.

So I am very excited to show you some of my lifestyle pictures of the Geometrics Range 2013 .  I am most excited about incorporating my own triangle pattern fabric into the mix and am looking at adding some more triangle items into the mix as time goes on.

The new triangle cushion and grey chevron are actually a heavier weight fabric which makes them suitable for use all around the home. I still have the lighter weight chevron cushion covers to match the quilts which are better used for decorative purposes.

The Chevron Range is available in Aqua, Grey, Yellow, Navy.. The idea is that they can mix and match with the other more detailed pieces that I make. Most of these items are now all listed in the Etsy Store

Sneak peek at the new cushions for the geometrics range.

I have previously shown you my own designs incorporated into the quilts but this time I have ordered some heavier weight upholstery type fabric to make some decorator cushion covers.  I have put the cot together and I am hoping to take some more photographs..

Kids Trends..Triangles

Everywhere we look in fashion and interiors we are seeing strong geometric patterns often with an aztec like american indian vibe.

I have been collecting images on my Geometrics pinterest board and have put together a few which could give you some nursery decorating inspiration.

What I love about this trend is that it can be interpreted in so many ways and it is particularly great for boys who are often relegated to the cliched looks we have seen over and over. While classic is great,  it is fun to see something fresh.

Its so versatile.. it can be used to create a strong or soft look and suits everyone from newborns to teens.  I really like all the interesting and vibrant colour combinations.

I am working on more quilts in strong colour palettes like the one pictured above especially with the strong dash of black but I also have two softer looks which I know you will love too.

You can find all the sources for the pictures above on my  geometric pinterest board.
